Looking for some great spots to enjoy the outdoors with your family? Three Palatine Park District parks have new playgrounds and other amenities ready for play this fall!
Meadowlark Park, located at 1502 W. Northwest Highway, features a brand-new playground, a shelter with tables and a grill, a bags game area, and an exciting adventure course. This project was made possible in part by a generous $499,900 OSLAD Grant (Open Space Land Acquisition and Development).
At Wally Degner Park, 71 S. Middleton Ave., the old playground was removed this summer by the nonprofit organization Kids Around the World. Construction on the new play structures began in late August, and by mid-September, the park was buzzing with activity. The updated playground includes slides, climbing structures, and swings—perfect for kids of all ages.
The Grove, 4801 Old Plum Grove Road, has received its very first playground! Thanks to valuable input from local residents over the years, a new play area was installed last month. It’s already become a favorite for students from nearby Plum Grove Middle School. The playground features climbing bars, tunnels, slides, and swings and the nature theme of the playground matches nicely with the surroundings.
We encourage you to come out and explore these refreshed spaces!
